I have a confession. I sometimes choose a book because I like its cover. Yes, I know what everyone says about that. But if something catches my attention, I want to find out whether the story inside is just as interesting. Perhaps that is why I find meeting new people so fascinating. A handsome face might make me look twice, but it is the conversation that decides whether I want to stay. I love discovering unexpected things about someone. Maybe he has a terrible singing voice but sings anyway. Maybe he knows how to cook one amazing dish and proudly serves it every chance he gets. Or perhaps he has a funny childhood story that he has told a hundred times but still cannot finish without laughing. Those are the things I remember. I am a single woman who enjoys books, music and spontaneous walks, but I would happily put a good book aside for a conversation that makes me forget the time. And that is what makes online dating interesting to me. Somewhere among all these unfamiliar faces might be a man whose ordinary stories become my favorites. I love getting lost in a good book, taking long walks with friends and listening to music that matches my mood.
